Director dealings: Zegona chief makes second purchase of the week
Zegona Communications chief executive Eamonn O'Hare continued to top up his stake in the company after the shares were hit by the company walking away from a potential Spanish acquisition.
O'Hare, a former chief financial officer of Virgin Media and Tesco UK, has this week spent £226,000 as he snapped up two 100,000-share batches of shares at price of 113p both times. Around a month ago, O'Hare bought 50,000 shares at a price of 109p.
Zegona, which floated on AIM in March last year with the mission of conducting a ‘buy-fix-sell’ strategy in the European TMT sector,
In late June Zegona reported on strong first-quarter results at its first and only acquisition so far, north-west Spain-based Telecable, where its year-on-year revenue growth highest in last six years.
On the same day, Zegona announced that it had terminated all discussions on the potential acquisition of fellow Spanish operator Yoigo after a "protracted and inconclusive" talks with minority shareholders, despite having had 100% underwritten financing and reached agreement with major shareholder TeliaSonera.
Shares in Zegona, which had reached 130p before that point, fell to 102p in the days after, and have since risen, helped by O'Hare and fellow directors' purchases.
