Directors dealings: Commercial property firm McKay's boss and finance chief sell shares

McKay Securities's boss, Simon Perkins, and his finance chief Giles Salmon unloaded a raft of shares in the real estate investment trust awarded to them as part of the company's 2007 Mckay performance scheme, on 18 July, the company said in a statement.

Perkins sold 127,938 shares at an individual price of 166.7p a piece for a total sum of £213,273, while his lieutenant unburdened himself of another £130,026-worth of stock.

In a trading update on 14 July the chairman of the South East England and central London-focused commercial property investment company, David Thomas, had told shareholders: "We have been through a number of turbulent times and I am speaking to you today as the country adjusts to the prospect of leaving the EU following the referendum result at the end of the quarter.

"Over the period, letting progress and portfolio management has continued to realise our significant portfolio reversion and further strengthen our income profile. This has been achieved despite business uncertainty surrounding the referendum, noted at the year end, which is expected to continue to delay investment decisions until the economic and political consequences of the vote to leave the EU can be better qualified."

Shares in the company had fallen sharply from the 224p at which they closed on the eve of the referendum vote to trade at levels last seen towards the end of 2014.

To take note of, in early July several of the company's non-executive directors, as well as Thomas himself, had stepped in to buy shares.

Shares of McKay Securities closed 2.54% higher on Tuesday at 171.25p.
