Directors deals: ABF's Hauser buys shares near decade lows

One of Associated British Food's independent non-executive directors picked up some shares in the food processing and retailing giant as they traded near their lowest ebb since the start of 2012.

Dr.Wolfhart Hauser purchased 3,243 shares for 1,534.0p apiece on 7 July, for a total transaction amount of 49,746.09p, the company said in a statement.

Just over two weeks earlier, ABF reported that trading had been in line with expectations over the half ending on 28 May and that the outlook was unchanged.

"Our full year outlook remains unchanged with significant progress expected in adjusted operating profit and adjusted earnings per share for the Group," ABF said on 20 June.

On 5 July, analysts at Deutsche Bank lowered their target price for the shares from 1,900.0p to 1,850.0p.
