Ocean Wilsons chair gives market confidence in company

After a dip in Ocean Wilsons Holdings’ subsidiary’s third quarter revenue and operating profit, its chairman is stumping up his own cash to back the company.

Wilson Sons Limited saw operating profit drop to $33.3m (£22.1m) from £35.9m.

It also posted a 31% dip in sales compared to the previous year, down to $122.5m.

As a result, chairman Jose Vieirais trying to give the market some confidence in his company by purchasing 17,500 shares for £135,625.

It appears to have given some traders a bit more confidence, with shares up 27p (3.47%) to 804.5p at 1449 GMT.
