Watchstone Group chairman buys shares

Richard Rose, non-executive chairman of Watchstone Group – formerly Quindell – bought 100,000 shares in the insurance technology company at 257.88p each.

This marked Rose’s first purchase and gives him a 0.2% interest in Watchstone’s issued share capital.

Watchstone shares rocketed last Monday as they resumed trading on AIM, having been temporarily suspended ahead of a court hearing and a share capital reduction.

They were also temporarily suspended in June after the Financial Conduct Authority began an investigation into the company’s accounting practices.

Watchstone announced in early November that it planned to return £415m to shareholders this month, following the sale of its professional services division.

Elsewhere, Electra Private Equity said Edward Bramson bought shares and convertible bonds in the company.

Through his Sherborne Investors vehicles, he purchased 5,300 shares at 3,691p each, along with 228 convertible bonds.
