China inflation recovers in August

China's consumer inflation recovered in August after dropping into negative territory the previous month, according to official data published on Saturday.

Consumer prices in the world’s second-largest economy rose 0.1% on an annualised basis, compared with forecasts of a 0.2% increase.

Core inflation, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, was up by 0.8%.
