Week ahead: Article 50, central bank decisions in focus
On 15 March, the Prime Minister may trigger Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, marking the start of up to two years of negotiations on Britain's terms for leaving the bloc.
That same day, Dutch voters will be called on to choose their next government.
Following that, starting on Friday, SNP would hold its Spring conference.
Acting as a backdrop, investors will also be waiting on policy decisions from the US Federal Reserve, Bank of England and Bank of Japan.
Whereas the BoE and BoJ are expected to stay put on rates on Thursday, rate-setters in the States are seen raising rates by a further 25 basis points to between 0.75% and 1.0% when they meet on the day before.
Indeed, following the US jobs data for February some economists, such as those at Goldman Sachs, now believed that it would be followed by not just two more hikes over the course of 2017 but perhaps three.
Four interest rate hikes in 2017, instead of three, was now deemed a 'close call' according to Goldman.
