Week ahead: Ceasefire negotiations, US jobs report in focus
The coming week's focus will continue to be on the war in Ukraine with ceasefire negotiations reportedly set to resume on Monday.
Against that backdrop, the flow of data is set to be back-end loaded with jobs market and consumer price figures due out on both sides of the Pond in the back half of the week.
Foremost among the above will the US non-farm payrolls report on Friday, which is expected to show another big jump in hiring during the month of March, to the tune of 550,000.
The day before, the Department of Commerce will publish a reading on the US personal consumption expenditures price deflator in February, although that will largely predate the invasion of Ukraine.
On the Continent meantime, Wednesday will bring with it consumer price data for March in Germany and Spain, which are expected to reveal a significant pick up in inflation.
They will be followed the next day by a reading on the German jobs market in March.
Also on Friday, Caixin will release its closely-followed factory sector Purchasing Managers' Index for China covering the month of March.
On home shores, Tuesday will bring with it consumer credit figures for February and on Thursday mortgage lender Halifax will release the results of its house price survey for March.
