Week ahead: US-China trade, US CPI in focus
Financial markets' focus over the coming will be firmly on the resumption of US-China trade talks.
Deputies from both sides are expected to meet in Washington on Monday and Tuesday, followed by high level contacts over the course of the following two days.
Against that backdrop, the minutes of the US central bank's last policy meeting are due out on Wednesday, with US monthly consumer price data expected the next day and a preliminary reading on consumer confidence for October scheduled on Friday.
Federal Reserve chairman, Jerome Powell, meanwhile is due to deliver a speech on Tuesday, at a conference of the National Association of Business Economists in Denver.
Back on the home turf, manufacturing and international trade figures covering the month of August are expected on Wednesday,
Bank of England Governor, Mark Carney, is also going to be delivering speeches, on Tuesday and Thursday.
In China meanwhile, the spotlight will be on the release of foreign exchange reserves figures for the month September on Monday and money supply data for that same month on Wednesday.
