The Confederation of British Industry has reached a settlement in relation to legal action brought about by former director-general Tony Danker, who was fired in 2023 following allegations regarding his conduct.

The CBI said both it and Danker had struck an "undisclosed settlement" following his sacking back in April last year in the wake of complaints that the head of the business lobbying organisation made unwanted contact with a female employee and considered this unwanted conduct to be sexual harassment.

When dismissing Danker from his post, the CBI stated his conduct had "fallen "short of that expected" of its head.

Danker's departure came as other separate allegations of misconduct at the business lobby group emerged, including two accusations of rape. The CBI reiterated on Monday that Danker was not associated with these historical claims.
