Mo Chaudry confirmed on Friday that Waterworld Leisure Group, his privately owned leisure company, had acquired Birmingham based business, Adventure Island Mini Golf in an attempt to expand the leisure brand and its operations.

Waterworld Group acquired the indoor golf business from its founder, John Whitehead as part of £20m investment over the next five years by Chaudry that would see the leisure brand go worldwide.

Founded nine years ago, Adventure Mini Golf contains two themed 18-hole "crazy" golf courses containing tiki huts, waterfalls, and volcanoes, spread across three levels of the Star City retail complex in Birmingham.

John Whitehead said of the acquisition, "We have had an incredibly successful time over the last nine years launching and operating Adventure Island Mini Golf and making it one of most successful destination leisure attractions in the Midlands. The time is now right to expand and develop the brand further, working with Mo Chaudry and the Water world group will allow us to realise the full potential of this fun and exciting concept nationwide."

A second Adventure Island Mini Golf and Trampoline Centre was set to launch by mid-2018 at Chaudry's existing Waterworld site in Stoke-on-Trent.
