Cook hints at Apple's expansion in automotive industry

Tim Cook has given his strongest hint yet that Apple is looking at expanding its automotive ventures, reports The Telegraph.
The chief executive said at the Wall Street Journal's WSJDLive conference in California that there is a “massive change in that industry”, but didn’t comment on rumours and reports that Apple is looking to build its own car by 2019, following in the footsteps of Google.
However, The Telegraph reported he did suggest the tech giant could make further strides into the market.
"When I look at the automobile, what I see is that software becomes an increasingly important part of the car of the future. You see that autonomous driving becomes much more important."
Apple has had a limited foray into the automotive industry with its CarPlay system, which allows cars to display calls, play music and talk to Siri.
