Internet of things start-up Sigfox raises €150m

French internet of things start-up Sigfox has raised €150m to expand internationally, gaining heavyweights such as Total and Salesforce as new investors.

Sigfox connects over 10m everyday objects such as cameras and smart meters on a cloud to communicate with one another in 26 countries. It hopes to reach 60 countries by 2020.

The company's new investors include French oil giant Total, software and cloud computing provider Salesforce and Henri Seydoux the founder of fashion house Christian Louboutin and drone maker Parrot.

It previously raised $115m in february 2015, from other investors including French energy company Engie, Spanish broadband provider Telefonica and South Korea’s SK Telecom, according to Reuters.
