Judge allows Musk to include whistleblower report in Twitter trial
Updated : 15:15
Twitter shares jumped on Wednesday after The Wall Street Journal reported that a judge had ruled that Tesla owner Elon Musk can amend his countersuit against the social media company to include a whistleblower report.
Although that request was accepted, the judge denied Musk’s request to delay the trial to November. It is expected to begin on 17 October.
Last week, Musk notified Twitter that he was ending the agreed $44bn merger deal because of the whistleblower report published last month by The Washington Post.
Previously, he had said he was abandoning the deal because he had received insufficient information from Twitter regarding the percentage of its users that are actually spam accounts.
At 1510 BST, Twitter shares were up 3.7% at 40.17p.
