Authorities in the US opened a formal investigation into Tesla's Autopilot following multiple accidents involving parked emergency vehicles.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that the carmaker's partially-automated driving system had difficulty identifying such vehicles.

It tied that fault to 11 crashes since 2018.

Tesla's Models Y,X,S and 3 from 2014 to 2021 were all included in the investigation.

Shares of Tesla were falling 2.36% to $700.56 in reaction to the news.
