Speculation in the media of clients leaving have "no basis", Deutsche Bank´s boss said in a letter sent to staff.

“Our bank has become object of heavy speculation -- renewed rumors have sparked marked swings in shares.”

“Our job is that this distorted perception from outside doesn’t influence our business in a stronger way. There are some market forces, that want to weaken this confidence in us,” he said.

In Cryan´s opinion, not even the outcome of litigation in the States justifies the share price decline, when one looks at the final settlements reached by the US government with rivals.

Deutsche Bank has a strong foundation.

As of 0953 BST the lender´s shares were clawing back some of their ovenright losses and trading at €10.26.
