Boeing has released a demonstration video of its new ANA Highlight 787-9 Dreamliner, the same aircraft due to perform between July 11-13 at the Farnborough International Airshow.
The footage was recorded in Moses Lake, Washington, and offers a preview of the performance and capabilities of the impressive new craft.
"ANA made history by becoming the launch customer of the 787 Dreamliner and makes history again by becoming the first Japanese airline to take part in a demonstration flight at a major international airshow. The airplane is specially marked with decals prominently featuring Mount Fuji and cherry blossoms, two iconic symbols of Japan," according to a Boeing press release.
Two innovative capabilities for the 787-9 Dreamliner include high-banking turns that show wing flex and side-to-side movements to demonstrate roll authority and handling characteristics.
The airplane has been made to carry more passengers and cargo than previous models, as well as a 20% reduction in emissions from the crafts they will replace.
"571 orders have been placed for the 787-9 by 38 customers worldwide," said Boeing. "This airplane, scheduled to deliver later this month, will become ANA's 13th 787-9, and the 49th member of ANA's 787 fleet. ANA is the largest operator of the 787 Dreamliner."
