Core Eurozone inflation slips in November
Updated : 10:28
Consumer level inflation in the euro area edged higher in November, even as the slide in energy prices abated.
The Eurozone´s consumer price index advanced at a 0.2% year-on-year pace last month, up from the previous month´s reading of 0.1%, according to Eurostat.
In comparison to October they slipped by 0.1% month-on-month.
However, at the 'core' level - which strips out the most volatile categories in order to provide a better picture of the underlying situation - prices actually slipped.
The CPI excluding energy, food, alcohol, tobacco and energy, rose 0.9% in comparison to a year ago, down from the 1.1% increase seen in the month before.
Versus October, that measure of core prices declined by 0.2% month-on-month.
