Coene (ECB): Frankfurt has no concrete proposal for bond-buying scheme

In remarks to Belgian daily De Tijd European Central Bank (ECB) governing council member Luc Coene said Frankfurt has no concrete plans to buy corporate bonds.
That follows reports on Tuesday that just such measures might be decided upon as soon as early December, although a Wall Street Journal article clarified that no concrete plans or dates had been set out.
"If we limit ourselves to buying covered bonds and asset backed securities there is a risk that we would pay too high a price. We can prevent that by also buying corporate bonds," the central banker said, adding, "but there is no concrete proposal for that on the table."
