ECB's Praet says "no taboos" when it comes to dealing with inflation

The European Central Bank’s chief economist, Peter Praet, said on Tuesday that there would be “no taboos” with regard to discussions about additional monetary loosening to push up inflation in the euro bloc.
In an interview with AFP, Praet said: "The governing council has given a very strong message: it is ready to draw the consequences of its assessment of the monetary policy stance.
"The president has asked the teams to re-examine the toolbox and to have an in-depth 360-degrees reflection."
He added: "We will assess this in December, notably in light of the new macroeconomic staff projections."
Last week, ECB chief Mario Draghi struck a decidedly dovish tone, leading market participants to believe that the bank’s €60bn a month asset-purchase programme will be extended or increased in December.
