New passenger car registrations in the European Union slipped a further 6.7% in February as vehicle manufacturers continued to face supply chain disruptions.

With just 719,465 units sold across the EU last month, new car registrations recorded their weakest result in terms of volume for the month of February since records began.

According to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association, the four key markets in the region posted mixed results, with Italy and France recording double-digit losses of 22.6% and 13.0%, respectively, while Spain and Germany saw growth of 6.6% and 3.2%, respectively.

From January to February, total new car registrations declined 6.4% compared to the same period last year.
