The US economy was near full-employment with inflation close to the central bank´s target, so the Federal Reserve should raise rates, a top monetary policy maker reportedly said.

The remarks were made by Federal Reserve bank of Boston president Eric Rosengren to CNBC´s 'Squawk Box'.

When queried about why he was now on the more 'hawkish' side of policy views at the Fed, Rosengren reportedly answered that his views had not changed, but economic conditions had.

"The market seems to think that there's a very high probability of (hiking in) December. We'll see how the economic data actually comes in, but I think that is priced appropriately."

The Fed "tended to move" at meetings like the one in December, for which a regular press conference is scheduled, he reportedly added.
