German inflation confirmed at 3.8% in December
German inflation rose in December to 3.8%, in line with preliminary data, the federal statistics office said on Tuesday.
Excluding volatile food and energy prices the consumer price index rose 5.1% on an annual basis. Food prices rose 12.4% year on year., while energy prices were up 5.3% compared to the same period last year.
Consumer prices in Europe's biggest economy, harmonised to compare with other European Union countries, rose by 2.3% year-on-year in November.
