German inflation falls faster than expected in June

German inflation fell more than expected in June, according to official data published on Monday.
The figure fell to 2.5% in June, flash data from the federal statistics office stated, economists had forecast a print of 2.6%. Consumer prices rose 2.8% in May, based on data harmonised to compare with other European Union countries.
Core inflation, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, fell to 2.9% from 3.0% in May.
