Indonesia's central bank unexpectedly cut rates on Thursday.

At a regularly scheduled policy meeting the country's monetary authority lowered its main policy rate by 25 basis points to 7.25%.

Economists had expected the central bank to keep it unchanged.

The decision followed multiple bomb blasts earlier in the day that rocked the country's capital, Jakarta.

As of 07:17GMT the US dollar was trading 0.32% higher versus the Indonesian rupiah at 13,879.
