Italian industrial orders rise sharply in August

Industrial orders in Italy jumped 10.2% month-on-month in August, according to ISTAT, and by 6.8% year-on-year, with domestic orders pacing gains with an increase of 7.9%.

Sales were also up, rising by 4.2% against July, led by a 4.3% increase in foreign sales.

In terms of quarterly rates of change, sales were up by 1.9% quarter-on-quarter and 10.0% ahead versus the same month one year earlier.
