Italian retail sales edge higher in November

Italian retail sales nudged higher in November, led by a bounce in sales of food items, but were still lower than a year ago in value terms.

In seasonally adjusted terms, retail sales increased by 0.3% month-on-month in November in both value and volume terms, led by a 0.7% jump in sales of food items, according to the country´s statistics office, ISTAT.

However, versus a year ago retail sales were down by 0.1% and in volume terms by another 1.0%.
