Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner's conversations with Russian officials during last year’s presidential election campaign have allegedly become the focus of the FBI probe into alleged Russia links.

Several US media organisations are reporting that Kushner, a senior adviser to Trump, is considered to be a key person in the investigation into the President's 2016 campaign.

Trump has come under pressure in recent weeks as reports grow of attempts from the administration to drop a probe into former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Kushner was adamant on Thursday that he would comply with any requests for involvement in the FBI investigation.

Former FBI chief Robert Mueller was appointed as a special counsel to the investigation last week

"Mr Kushner previously volunteered to share with Congress what he knows about these meetings," his legal representative Jamie Gorelick said in a statement.

"He will do the same if he is contacted in connection with any other inquiry," she added.

Former FBI chief Robert Mueller was appointed as a special counsel to the investigation last week after the intelligence agency’s director James Comey was fired by Donald Trump while the probe into his campaign was ongoing.

Flynn was forced into resignation in February over misleading Trump about his conversations with Kremlin officials before he took over the Oval Office.
