US and China studying trade deal, Journal says

The US and China are studying the possibility of deferring the increase in Washington's tariffs on exports from the Asian giant scheduled for the start of 2019 through the spring, while fresh talks take place to look at "big changes" in Beijing's economic policy.

News of the deal to defuse tensions and prop up markets was reported by the Journal, which cited officials "from both sides of the Pacific".
