Pence campaign plane skids off runway at LaGuardia airport

Donald Trump's running mate Mike Pence was on a campaign flight which skidded off a runway at New York's LaGuardia airport on Thursday as it landed in torrential rain.
No injuries were reported by the 30 people on board the flight, which included members of the Republican's campaign as well as members of the media.
Pence tweeted early on Friday morning that everyone on the plane was safe and thanked those who had come to help at the scene.
"So thankful everyone on our plane is safe. Grateful for our first responders & the concern & prayers of so many. Back on the trail tomorrow!" said the Indiana governor.
At a campaign rally in Ohio, Republican nominee Trump told supporters that Pence had been in "grave danger" after the landing, but added that he and others had emerged unharmed.
Democratic rival Hillary Clinton took a break from the strict trend of partisan jibes during the campaigns to say she was glad that Pence had been able to walk way from the incident.
The airport was closed for a period after the accident but reopened despite lengthy delays.
