Treasury's Yellen says 'additional actions' would be taken if warranted
The head of the US Department of the Treasury believed that extra steps would indeed be taken to stabilise the country's financial system - if necessary.
In remarks prepared for a speech to the US House of Representatives' Appropriations subcommittee, Janet Yellen would say: "We have used important tools to act quickly to prevent contagion," Marketwatch.com reported.
"And they are tools we could use again."
"Certainly, we would be prepared to take additional actions if warranted."
