US President Donald Trump has responded to the attempted terror attack in London by suggesting cutting-off the internet to 'loser' terrorists.

An explosion at Parsons Green station in the West of the capital is being treated as an attempted terror attack by security forces, with several commuters suffering burns as a result of the incident.

Trump also took a swipe at Scotland Yard in a series of tweets, where he said law enforcement must be 'proactive' in preventing terrorism.

"Another attack in London by a loser terrorist. These are sick and demented people who were in the sights of Scotland Yard. Must be proactive!" Trump tweeted.

"Loser terrorists must be dealt with in a much tougher manner. The internet is their main recruitment tool which we must cut off & use better!"

Trump went on to say that the US needed to beef up the travel ban introduced by the President, which has run into several legal difficulties since he first signed off on it earlier this year.

"The travel ban into the United States should be far larger, tougher and more specific-but stupidly, that would not be politically correct!"

London police said on Friday that the fire on the District line train was caused by an 'improvised explosive device', with 22 people being treated in hospitals across the city.

PM Theresa May condemned the attack, referring to those behind it as 'cowardly'.
