US CPI remained unchanged in September

US consumer prices remained unchanged in September at a 1.7% year-on-year rate of change, according to the latest figures available from the Bureau of Labour Statistics.

That was one tenth of a percentage point more than market forecasts.

In comparison to August consumer prices advanced by 0.1% (consensus: 0%).

At the 'core' level on the other hand they were higher by just 0.1% over the month, one tenth of a percentage point less than had been expected.
