US October jobs report is "very good" news, Fed´s Evans says

October´s gains in jobs was "very good news" and will help to bolster inflationary pressures, a top US central bank official said on Friday.

Speaking on CNBC´s "Squawk Box" the president of the Federal Reserve bank of Chicago, Charles Evans, described the latest employment report as "very good news", adding that it supported his outlook for gross domestic product growth of 2.5% in 2016.

"Strong wage growth would be a very helpful ... pushing inflation up to 2 percent, which is what we need."

The rate-setter, who is known to have a dovish bias, said there was still a "little bit of slack".
