US oil rig count keeps climbing, Baker Hughes says

The number of oil rigs in operation in the US continued to climb last week, increasing by 11 to 758, according to the results of the most widely-followed survey tracking them.

According to Baker Hughes, there were 428 more active oil rigs in operation in the week ending on 23 June than one year ago.

As of 1854 BST front month West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures were off their session highs, up by 0.28% to $42.86 a barrel on the ICE.
