Factory gate prices Stateside moved higher in November as the prices for services bounced back after having fallen over the previous two months.

Food prices broke a three-month streak of falls, but total goods prices still decreased for a fifth month in a row, slipping by 0.1%.

The producer price index advanced 0.3% month-on-month, the same as food prices, while energy prices slipped 0.6%, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

In comparison with a year ago factory gate prices declined 1.1%.

Economists had anticipated a flat reading over the month and a 1.4% fall versus last year.
