Alent says Platform Specialty Products has received antitrust clearance from China

Alent said the recommended offer for the company by Platform Specialty Products has received antitrust clearance from the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China.

The chemicals group said this follows the clearances received from anti-trust authorities in the US, South Korea, Ukraine, Brazil, Germany, Poland and Romania for the proposed acquisition.

In July, US-based Platform Specialty Products agreed to buy Alent for about £1.35bn.

At 1412 BST, Alent shares were up 1.1% at 501p.
