Spirent buys US-based octoScope for $55m

Technology company Spirent Communications said it had bought US peer octoScope for $55m in cash.

OctoScope makes wi-fi testing equipment used “in emulated real-world environments, including the latest Wi-Fi 6 and 6E technologies, Spirent said on Friday, with Google, Facebook, Verizon, Qualcomm, Nokia, Amazon, Philips and Sony among its clients.

Spirent said it will fund the deal from existing cash resources. Up to an extra $18m is payable based on annual revenue growth targets for 2021 and 2022 and retention of key staff.
