WPP buys Belgium's Famous; to focus on Western EU post Brexit

WPP said the UK's decision to leave the European Union will lead to it placing “an even greater emphasis” on growth in Western Continental Europe as it announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Belgian creative agency Famous for an undisclosed sum.

Brussels-based Famous' main services include creative and design, strategy and innovation, digital strategy and production, data and performance marketing and PR.

Following the acquisition, Famous will rebrand as FamousGrey. Its revenues for the year ended 31 December 2015 were approximately €8.1m with gross assets of approximately €7.5m at the same date.
