US pre-open: Futures mostly lower ahead of weekly jobless claims report
Wall Street futures were mostly lower ahead of the bell on Thursday as investors awaited this week's jobs data from the Department of Labor.
As of 1245 BST, Dow Jones futures were up 0.02%, while S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 futures had the indices opening 0.19% and 0.41% lower, respectively.
The Dow closed 10.59 points higher on Wednesday in what was a somewhat muted session for major indices.
Thursday's primary focus will be the latest set of jobless claims data at 1330 BST, with economists expecting a print of 425,000 for the week ended 22 May, a further drop from the prior week's fresh pandemic-era low of 444,000.
Also on the macro front, April durable goods orders and a second-quarter GDP growth rate estimate will both be published at 1330 BST, while pending home sales for April will be released at 1500 BST and the Kansas Fed's May manufacturing index will follow at 1600 BST.
In the corporate space, Snowflake shares were down in pre-market trading after posting widened losses, Nvidia stock dipped despite the chip maker's first-quarter earnings and sales beating Wall Street expectations and GameStop slipped amid a resurgence in speculative trading.
