UK challenger bank Aldermore has cancelled its £800m flotation, blaming the “recent deterioration of global equity markets”.

A recent decline in investor confidence prompted the firm to pull the initial public offering.

Confidence has been dragged lower amid unrest in Middle East, the Ebola virus, concerns over Europe’s weak economy and a plunge in oil prices.
