Bridgepoint confirmed its intention to list in London as part of its growth plans and enhance its strategic flexibility.
The initial public offering would be targeted at "certain" institutional investors with the aim of raising roughly £300.0m.
The middle market-focused buyout firm also said that it was targeting a free float of "at least" 25% with shares representing up to a further 15% of its capital to be available as part of an over-allotment option.
JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley would act as joint global co-ordinators.
BNP Paribas, Citigroup Global Markets Limited and Merrill Lynch International would act as joint Bookrunners, and Moelis & Company UK LLP as its financial adviser.
Some ordinary shares would be sold by existing Bridgepoint partners, the company said.
