BoE chief economist sees interest rates staying lower for longer

The Bank of England’s chief economist, Andy Haldane, now sees interest rates staying lower for longer.

Speaking on Friday morning Haldane explained that he had changed his stance, from what it had been during the summer, as evidence of weaker global growth, lower inflationary pressures as result of the decline in commodity prices and low wage growth came in.
