Iain Duncan Smith shows support for Cameron

Work and pensions secretary Iain Duncan Smith said he has "complete faith" that the Prime Minister will be able to agree welfare reforms as part of the wider package of new terms David Cameron is attempting to negotiate with the rest of the European Union (EU).

Cameron is hoping to agree limitations on the access EU migrants are granted to in-work benefits, such as tax credits.

Duncan Smith told the BBC's Andrew Marr programme: "I have complete faith in the prime minister wanting to deliver on what he said he would at the time of the election.

"He has always said from the word go that he wasn't going to go over there and go through the motions, he actually wanted to deliver something that benefited Britain."

The issue of benefit tourism is something that all EU countries want to reduce, he said.

A referendum on the UK's position in the EU is due to take place within the next two years.
