It's time for "decisive action" on third runway, CBI to tell government

The UK government needs to "get on" with taking "decisive action" about a third runway at Heathrow, the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) is set to say at its annual conference on Monday.
The government's final decision on the controversial issue is expected to be announced by the year end.
CBI president Paul Drechsler is set to say: "The commission is a chance to end the cycle of politicisation and procrastination that has plagued British infrastructure for decades.
"However, we must not duck infrastructure decisions which must be made right now. On airport capacity, we need strong political leadership and decisive action from government.
"Britain needs that new runway, so let's get it built."
Earlier this year the Airports Commission delivered its report in which it supported a third runway at Heathrow, predicting that it would add £147bn to the economy and create 70,000 by 2050.
