Another day, another Brexit/Bremain poll to consider.

This one, by ORB, revealed 52% of Britons favoured remaining in the European Union, against 40% who wanted to leave.

It also showed that, among those who are certain to vote, the leave camp had risen to 47% as the remain outfit fell to 48%.

Yesterday, Digital Look reported that the most recent Observer/Opinium, YouGov/ITV and TNS polls had revealed 43%-45% of Britons favoured leaving the EU, versus 40%-41% wanting to stay.

Sterling remains highly sensitive to the UK's in-out vote on EU membership, and over the past few weeks has been buffeted lower and higher by various gauges of voter sentiment.

OANDA senior market analyst Craig Erlam said polls prior to the Scottish referendum or UK election had appeared to be not that accurate.

"The markets are going to remain very sensitive to them (Brexit/Bremain polls) given the consequences that a vote to leave could have for the pound," he noted.
