RMT recommends Night Tube offer to members

RMT’s executive has recommended members accept London Underground’s latest offer over the Night Tube and pay.

London Underground's latest offer included a four-year pay deal, lump sum payments of £500 and the possibility of a 36-hour four-day week to get the Night Tube running, which was originally due to launch in September.

The union said on Wednesday it will ballot its members on February 11, but supports the offer.

Other unions Aslef and TSSA are yet to decide on the offer, however BBC News reported that Unite, which represents engineering staff, has turned down the offer and wants further talks.

The offer came in January just before a series of 24 hour full tube strikes were set to begin, with RMT only deciding to suspend strike action the day before the first strike.

RMT members are still due to strike this weekend over issue of station staffing in Transport for London's Fit for the Future Stations programme.
