UK inflation expectations rise in February, BoE survey shows

Inflation expectations in the UK rose in February, according to a survey conducted on behalf of the Bank of England.

The median expected rate of consumer price inflation over the next year rose from 2.8% in November to 2.9%, according to the results of the latest quarterly Bank of England/TNS Inflation Attitudes Survey.

In parallel, the median expectation for the rate of inflation over the subsequent 12 months was seen at 2.7%, up from 2.5% one quarter ago.

When asked to give the current rate of inflation, respondents gave a median answer of 2.7%, up from 2.3% in November.
