UK may already have 55,000 coronavirus infections, government says

The COVID-19 coronavirus may have already infected as many as 55,000 people in the UK.
In a press conference, the country's top scientific officer, Sir Patrick Vallance, said that was "a reasonable ballpark figure".
His remarks followed a travel advisory warning from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office against non-essential travel worldwide by British citizens.
