Affinity, Carlyle and CVC Capital said to be among early bidders for Tesco South Korean unit

Private equity firms Affinity Equity Partners, Carlyle Group and CVC Capital Partners were reportedly among seven or eight preliminary bidders for Tesco’s South Korean unit.

Reuters cited a report in the Korea Economic Daily, saying that MBK Partners, Goldman Sachs Principal Investment Area, TPG and Orion Corp were also among those who expressed an interest in the business.

Tesco’s South Korean unit is expected to get around €6bn in the sale.
